This piece is also an extension of previous artistic commentaries-which employed repeating black banners, tagged with the word, GOVERNMENT on one side using modern type stencils, and the word, CONTROL, on the opposite. While both exploit the same philosophical concer for government and control; the QR project incorporates a more detached role, by allowing the audience or particepant to ‘stumble’ upon the work, or come into contact with the piece in a more indirect manner.
The objective is to suggest that one’s philosophical point of veiw regarding the placement of inherent power, can dictate their perception of government authority.
The raffle aspect of the work demonstrates one’s ease with, or lack there of, forced positioning.
The piece is essentially a philosophical game. If given the chance and forum; will the individual make a personal judgement or take what has been ‘raffled off.’
