QR- the government of time

This piece is concernd with factors that govern our perceptions, control, and relationships with tangible time. The QR codes are positioned over the top of analogue and digital clocks, stripping them of their functionality and adding an all too familiar interface-the personal computer. Once scanned, the code directs the user to a government run, time code and zoning site. This ‘re-direction’ (or maybe, miss-direction?) is a demonstration of our perception of time as a quantified collection of distributable values. Values that are not held by all, but by those in the majority and those of authority. Further more, that which is essentially a time saving device, the personal or hand-held computer, is (in this case especially), a misguided attempt to capture and preserve time.
